The Rough Guide to Space Opera: Chris Roberson - Blue Tyson

Chris Roberson is a writer of science fiction, fantasy and comics. An editor, he is also the publisher of Monkeybrain books. Despite their digital aversion, it is entirely possible he has played Dungeons and Dragons while dressed in his Superman jammies with a lightsaber by his side. His Celestial Empire stories and novels of a future history dominated by China and Mexico may be of interest to space opera fans. He has also produced Star Trek and Warhammer 40,000 work.

Of his other original work, he has his own interconnected universe that draws inspiration from things like Philip Jose Farmer's Wold Newton universe. These Carmody-Bonaventure brood adventures may fall into any subgenre. This includes the new Planetary Romance of Paragaea, when a young Russian woman ends up going through a gate to another world and ending up in some sub-Barsoomian hijinks with people out of the past and catmen.
